On that magical night, the girls were making wreaths and setting them into the currents of the rivers. According to beliefs, this was the way to get a quick marriage or an old manhood. In the beginning, the wreaths were woven of ordinary straw with flowers woven into it. In later times, girls began to weave bouquets of wild flowers and herbs and embedded candles in them. Such a bouquet had to consist of seven plants that were considered magical: mugwort, burdock, sundew, sage, St. John's wort, rue and mullein. It was believed that in this way you would scare away evil spirits, save you from disease and guarantee a happy marriage :)

I am pleasantly surprised by this superb image. Thank you for this beautiful sharing. I'm sorry for my absence between work and medical appointments (5 per week) I completely overwhelmed myself, friendly Kordouane.
