I am trying to learn Daz Studio as everyone knows.
I used Theory of Light - Energy Flow Iray Lights, HDRIs and Props by fabiana. I had other programs open, so it took about 40 minutes.
I only used "HDRI Colors" for lights.
Then, I find under "Utilities," there are Iray Render settings, however they say "Do not include Environment."
Could you guys just tell me your steps to using Fabi's Daz Studio products?
I know this is a lot to ask, however you guys really do a wonderful job with these products! I just don't understand why I don't get it. I Google everything, before asking.

Hi jan_scrapper !!
First off let me say, Daz at this point may seem overwhelming (we all go through it and I started without any 3D experience or background. Korduane learned it and she did not speak English at the time Just remarkable !!) but persistence and patience along with a few obscenities WILL pay off.
So, Fabiana's statement "Do not include environment" I believe should be "Does not include environment", meaning if you apply these settings, no changes will occur to the environment. You will have to make/change these settings yourself.
Now, many things can make an image grainy. Here are the first things to check: 1 - Are you using an Nvidia card? If so, the 'Render Settings' panel has a setting under 'Filtering'. Noise Filter enable should be set to 'on'. 2 - Same panel under Progressive Render. 'Max Samples' should be set to, at least, 7,200. 3 - Using the Surfaces Panel, make sure all items in the scene have the iRay uber shader applied.
If you don't have an Nvidia card there are other options to eliminate/minimize the grain but these amount to tricks and don't really solve the problem. Feel free to site mail me and I'll be happy to provide details. Also, please consider me a resource for any questions at any time you may have as you progress through your learning curve. I am always willing to share what I know or point you to solutions.
Good luck !!

Thank you so much for the advice! I think I really started with products that way over my head instead of going for the easier stuff.
I guess I thought if I could do it in Poser, I could do it in DS :)
I am going to check everything you advised about.

Oh, my goodness!! I have a feeling my computer can’t handle Iray! We’ll see. I can’t get a new computer right now :(.
I never thought of this being a problem for the noise. I didn’t have this issue with Poser.
